President's Day

SO, is it spring break yet? Nope. We've got 2 months to go...and the kids at school are bursting at the seams to get out of their seats for just about anything.

Last week, our school had a picnic in honor of Presidents Day (Yes, our school observes American Presidents Day. The weirdness just keeps on coming). And so, the best of American food was offered: McDonald's, Burger King, Dippin' Dots, Corn Dogs, mango verde (apparently it's a big hit in Miami and Phoenix). Anyhow, in honor of our nations pastime, the seniors challenged the high school teachers to a game of softball.

Colin became a superhero to my 6th grade boys in a matter of minutes as he scoured the outfield.
"Meeess....your husband is a really good player." Of course, I wholeheartedly agree. Colin would accuse me of being easily impressed. Who? Me? Ok...where he's involved, yes. (Did I mention the library just suckered him into giving a book talk for a school-wide assembly at the end of the month?)

I must be easily impressed too, because I just told 10 college students from Asheville about Colin's book. The students came for a week to serve the Refugees I work with. They were going on and on about the Mountains and how pretty they are so I promoted Colin's book.

Also, I think you mean Beautiful fan! As far as Slugger maybe he should come to the St Louis Cardinals if Albert Pujols doesn't get his big contract ;)

You're looking so cute mees! :) And speaking of mees. We mees you. How are you feeling, are you counting the days?? I feel like I'm trying to slow them down! I was just reading in John the other day (15:21) and thought how true it was that a woman has sorrow when her hour to give birth has come. I remember the moment I knew "this is it" for Noah... I started to cry and insist, "No, No, I'm not ready!" But ready or not, those babies just come. :) And praise God for the truth of second half of the verse - the joy of new life far outweighs the struggle. So, just in case you're trying your best to procrastinate the inevitable (like me) ...you can do it! :) Be encouraged. We love you. (And call us!)

Love, Meg
