VIVA HONDURAS!

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! They DID it!! WE WON! Honduras defeated El Salvador 1-0 and the United States pulled together in the LAST second and tied with Costa Rica. Entonces, WE'RE GOING TO THE WORLD CUP!!! And what a night! The party just began about 30 minutes ago....the city is CRAZED with excitement and happiness. Four months of tension, despair, and unknowns are now spilling out in tears of joy as the pride of Honduras returns. And with it came the news that the UN legal council has acknowledged that Honduras'  decision to oust Mel Zelaya was constitutional! What a day! Fireworks are going off everywhere. Cheers of "Honduras, Honduras, Honduras" and "Gracias Estados Unidos!" can be heard from right outside of our window. Cars are honking up and down the streets. Screams of joy and delight are INCREASING--No one is going to sleep tonight! I thought I was a sports fan until now. Honduras is a WHOLE new level! I think my blood will not only run orange, but also blue and white before we're finished here. As odd as it sounds, this night is the beginning of hope for this small nation. !Dios benenice Honduras!

Holy moly... I go outta town for a couple of days and all of the sudden I have like 4 new posts to read! You guys have been busy. :) I wish I could sit out on my balcony and hear the joyful cheers of an entire nation. Pretty thrilling I bet. So cool. I'm glad this week has been going well! And also glad to hear that you're enjoying your home and your work, and that your pantry is stocked full of yummy gluten-free crackers. (Our little family was just walking up and down the gluten-free isle at our local "hippie" market the other day and wishing we could send you some treats... They've got good stuff. Is there anything you've been wishing for?)

Anyway, I love this blog. We have been praying pretty heartily over here for you guys so, it's very encouraging to hear they're being answered. Also, it certainly helps with the "missing you" to hear regular news. Keep it coming. :)
