huh?

These pics are actually from our city, Tegucigalpa. Couple Saturdays ago we went out and ambled around downtown on the day of the big USA vs. Honduras debacle. We had our Honduras jerseys on, of course. Didn't want to get scalped.

But this here gentleman was providing some musical entertainments for the passersby.
I love this picture. It's got it all...imperialistic neo-colonial collides with tropical atomic green smashed up against iron gates and homeless folks and cheap plastic Japanese motorcycles and Eurotrash luxury automobiles with tinted windows. This is part of our world now and it don't make no sense. (don't know why the font is all underlined but whatever).
Just a few blocks from our luxurious apartment...and this barrio isn't even one of the bad ones...
and here's me and...of course...
...BamBam. He says that when was a kid he wanted to play futbol americano but he wasn't big enough (dooowhutt?). And so his two choices were drugs or boxing. He chose boxing. Now his dream is to open a home for streets kids. But obviously the guy has no charm as you can see and is clearly a poor physical specimen...and we really feel sorry for him and are pretty sure that he has little chance to influence anyone.
So there's a bit more of our neck of the woods and these are some of our peeps.

it's good to see you sporting facial fuzz...i always thought you looked a bit hispanic with it. I just cut my hair about 2 weeks ago...so you guys are living in the penthouse suite?
i miss you, busters. i am homesick for my people. happy thanksgiving. what are you thankful for this year?
i am thankful that william's feet increase by one half size per week (this is not a joke). i am also thankful that as his diet has expanded so has his poop size. they now weigh approximately two pounds (you think i'm kidding) and he usually has six a day. i am thankful that his colon works so well. i am thankful that i have finally gotten used to my hands always smelling like dukey--no matter how many times they are washed. i am thankful that he has learned to run, slap, punch, kick, jump, slam and yawp. i am thankful for sleep. i am thankful for nap time. i am thankful that he is super, super smart (he stares at any object he comes across until he understands how to dismantle it, and then, within a couple of seconds, he has it taken apart--no exaggeration. he can do it with anything. anything. ANY. THING). and i am thankful that jeremy is super patient...
love, me. (j-c)
