SO, we've returned to our dear old Honduras. It feels a bit strange to be here without all the people we came here with two years ago. (Almost all of them moved on to Europe and Asia...such is the life of an international school teacher) But, at the same time, there's something kind of resembling normal about being back. We realized that since Dunn was born over 4 months ago, we have been alone as a family only two weeks. En serio! So, even though we're missing our families, it's nice to be together at last.
It was really great to be at home in Tennessee, though, and live among our people. When you're overseas for a long time, you sorta forget what you miss about los Estados Unidos. This summer was a great reminder: TJ Maxx, Tweetsie Railroad, jogging in the park, Chic-Fil-A, Craig's List...you know...the important things.
And now here we are! School's back in session and we're running around trying to learn how to be first-time parents while working full-time in a third world country. Awesome!
Dunnivan is now almost 5 months old (25 inches long, 13 lbs)--long and skinny. And, of course, we are absolutely in love with him--he smiles all the time, coos, screeches, tries to stand up, dances to "Rocky Top." Yep. I taught him that one. Now that school is in, we've just started him at the school nursery. Tough first day--especially for Mommy, but we made it through. And, I think so far, he's going to love it there.
All in all, we are glad to be home. We are hopeful for a good year, and we have so much to look forward to...Just wish the abuelitas were close by!

Love this. Hope all is well with you guys. Dunn is super cute enjoy this time together as a family. I am sure you are phenomenal parents. I think of you guys every time I met someone from Honduras or now that one of my friend's sisters is adopting a child from Tegus. Praying for you. Glad you got your Chick Fil A. I have so many southern friends now that I have become okay with certain things like SEC football. Plus my best guy friend is from south GA now that is some accent and I talk to him so much that I say Yall now.
Great pictures of the baby. I really thought your contract was only 2 yr. When are you coming back to the USA?
